The Lemania movement serial number dates the watch back to circa March 1967. These mid 1960s Tissot chronographs bear an uncanny resemblance to many Omega 320 and 321 chronographs from the same period (Omega and Tissot were sharing Lemania made movements at that time.) As mentioned above this watch is powered by a Lemania 1277 which indeed is the Omega 320. The chronograph both operates and resets effortlessly. The watch measures a full 37mm wide excluding the crown. Both the watch and alarm wind and set without issue. The alarm triggers right on the arrow the clearly audible buzz runs down but can seem a little uneven at times. The lume lights up faintly right through the night. The silvered dial (first dial styling of Jaeger bumper automatics) and hands on this are in completely original and untouched condition the dial is superb. The JLC caliber P 815 movement works, auto winds and keeps time on the wrist. The movement serial number, 1237020, dates the watch to 1957. Rolex was known to sometimes change case backs and crowns when the watches came in for service if deemed appropriate and this is likely the reason for the different numbers and a slightly more recent original Rolex crown. The case has two reference numbers, 6084 between the lugs and 6108 inside the caseback.
A serial number, 30856 appears on the movement. The black dial with raised numerals and the hands are both original and have the original radium lume that was used in this period.Ī slight paint loss has been noted to the text that would normally appear on the lower central part of the dial, just a hint of gold paint remains (likely from cleaning dial), text on upper part of dial (Oyster Perpetual) and text at very bottom (Swiss) are in tact and perfect.
